Middle school can be a challenging time of transition, and seeing a mountain of brand-new mini deodorants, menstrual kits, tissues, and shower wipes made them feel incredibly cared for. They were immediately drawn to the bright, colorful storage bins, and a few eager helpers volunteered on the spot to help me label them and set up our new dedicated classroom wellness area.\r\n\r\nThe storage bins with lids have been an absolute game-changer for organizing our cabinet space. We have stacked them neatly to create a discreet, easily accessible, and judgment-free \"Wellness Station.\" Now, instead of feeling embarrassed or having to ask to visit the nurse's office, students know they can quietly walk over to the cabinet and grab exactly what they need, whether it is a menstrual kit from the top bin or a pack of shower wipes. The fresh classroom set of Crayola markers has also been in constant rotation, bringing a burst of vibrant color to our recent science diagrams and group projects.\r\n\r\nHaving these resources readily available has completely shifted the energy in our classroom, removing the quiet anxieties that so often distract from learning. Looking ahead, our next steps are to keep this wellness station fully integrated into our daily routine so that every student continues to feel safe, comfortable, and dignified. By taking care of their basic physical needs, you have allowed my students to fully lock into our upcoming science units with confidence.
