It didn't just boost engagement—it increased daily attendance and created positive momentum around showing up and taking part in school.\r\n\r\nStudents were especially excited about the rewards. Several shared that having something to look forward to helped them push through tough mornings and stay focused throughout the day. It meant so much to every student who attended class during the months following your donation. No student in my class was met with an \"I'm sorry\" when they confided in me that they were hungry. Instead, they received a snack to help them bridge the gap until lunch. \r\n\r\nOftentimes, students made it to class a bit early to get a snack before the crowds of other students arrived, and several remained in class until after the final bell to benefit from getting a snack to take home. This was a game changer for our classroom. No longer was I the only person contributing to this effort, but your dollars helped transform our operation to such an extent that some students were able to take a snack bag home on Fridays to give them assurance of something to have over the weekend. \r\n\r\nMany years of instruction has taught me that students simply do not learn well on an empty stomach, and as one might imagine, class time became a lot more predictable when hunger became less of a competing factor. It's amazing to see how far a little kindness can go.
