This addition has been an incredible asset to our school community. Gaga Ball is a game that students of all skill levels can enjoy, while still offering the fast-paced competition that many of our students love. It has quickly become one of the most engaging and inclusive activities we offer.\r\n\r\nThe portability of the Gaga Ball Pit has made it especially valuable. We have been able to set it up outside on nice days and move it into the gym as the weather has gotten colder, allowing students to enjoy it year-round. During Physical Education classes, it is a top choice on Free Choice Fridays, and students consistently ask for it by name.\r\n\r\nIn addition, we use the Gaga Ball Pit during our Wednesday afternoon reward time for students who have all assignments completed. It has been a great motivator and a positive way to celebrate student responsibility and effort. Every time it is set up, students are absolutely shocked and excited to see it, and their enthusiasm never fades. It has quickly become one of the most anticipated activities in our school, creating an atmosphere filled with energy, smiles, and laughter.\r\n\r\nThe obstacle course is especially meaningful for our students with significant cognitive and physical needs. Watching their excitement and pride as they successfully complete the course is truly special, and it provides them with a sense of accomplishment and joy. It has also been wonderful to see our regular education students join in, racing alongside them and cheering them on, which has helped build inclusion, empathy, and positive peer relationships.\r\n\r\nWe regularly use the obstacle course during Free Choice Fridays in Physical Education class, as well as during our Wednesday afternoon reward time for students who have all assignments completed. The impact on my students has been immediate and powerful. When one of my students opened a book and saw it in her home language, she smiled and said, \"I know this.\" Another student was so excited to check out a book in Spanish and English because he wanted to read it with his younger siblings. \r\n\r\nThe books have already changed how my students see themselves as readers. Kids who were hesitant to pick up a book are now more confident because they know they can lean on their first language when they need to. I've watched them sit together, comparing words between English and their home language, and helping each other make sense of new vocabulary. It has created not only stronger readers, but also a stronger classroom community.\r\n\r\nYour gift means more than just adding books to our shelves.
