The paint, Play-Doh, paint rollers, and rubber stamps quickly became favorite classroom resources. When students first saw the materials, they were excited to explore the bright colors, different textures, and new tools. These resources gave students opportunities to learn through touch, movement, and creativity while practicing important skills such as making choices, following directions, developing fine-motor skills, and communicating their wants and ideas.\r\nOne of our favorite activities was creating artwork with paint rollers and rubber stamps. Students chose their own colors and experimented with making different marks, patterns, and designs. Play-Doh also provided a wonderful sensory and fine-motor experience as students squeezed, rolled, flattened, and shaped it while practicing colors, shapes, and following directions. It was especially rewarding to see students who may not always engage with traditional classroom activities become excited and involved. Each activity allowed students to work at their own level while building confidence and experiencing the joy of creating something themselves.\r\nThe impact of this project continues beyond the activities we completed last spring. We are continuing to incorporate hands-on learning and creative materials into current lessons involving colors, shapes, letters, numbers, seasons, and other classroom topics. We hope to continue giving students opportunities to explore, create, and work together on projects that showcase their individual strengths and creativity.
