They rushed into the classroom that very first day, eager to pull out their favorite activity—or to branch out and try something totally new. Since then, we've used these materials every single morning as a soft start to our day. In those first few minutes, students work together, talk, problem-solve, and warm up their brains. I've already seen growth in how well they collaborate and include one another, and they now transition into academics calmer, happier, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nOne of the biggest surprises has been how much they adore the chess set. Students who had never played before are suddenly teaching each other the rules, partnering up with classmates they don't usually choose, and discovering a new kind of confidence. Watching them gather around a board, celebrate moves, and encourage each other has been such a joyful part of our mornings.\r\n\r\nThese resources have also transformed indoor recess. Instead of defaulting to Chromebooks, students now have meaningful, screen-free options that keep recess fun and social. Thank you for bringing this daily joy into our classroom, for giving my students a positive way to start their day—even after a tough morning—and for helping create a space where excitement and connection fuel their learning.
