The hooks worked perfectly in our student cubbies for holding headphones and have already made our classroom much more organized. They matched our cubbies perfectly and are much sturdier than our previous hooks, which often broke throughout the year. The students were excited to have a special place to keep their headphones safe and easy to access during learning activities.\r\n\r\nThe felt characters quickly became a classroom favorite. Students immediately began using their imaginations to create stories, act out conversations, and collaborate with classmates during play and storytelling activities. It was wonderful to watch their creativity and language skills grow through hands-on learning. The number key tags also worked great for labeling student crayon containers and helping students take responsibility for their own materials each day.\r\n\r\nWe were also excited to receive more than enough felt pieces to continue building our collection next year. Future students will even be able to design and create their own felt characters to add to our classroom storytelling activities. Because of your generosity, my students were able to work collaboratively to design, build, and create incredible geometric cities using hands-on materials and tools.\r\n\r\nOur students used the new resources to explore geometry in a meaningful and creative way. In collaborative groups, students first designed their own geometric nets on paper and carefully planned how the 2D shapes would fold into 3D figures. One especially exciting moment was when students used the chop saw to safely cut cardboard pieces for their designs. They were so focused and proud as they transformed flat nets into cubes, prisms, pyramids, and other geometric solids. The classroom buzzed with excitement as students worked together to turn their shapes into entire collaborative cities complete with buildings, roads, and creative architectural details.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, they were thrilled. Many immediately began brainstorming ideas for skyscrapers, houses, parks, and landmarks they could include in their cities. Several students who are usually hesitant during math lessons became leaders during the project because they could physically see and build the math concepts we were learning. Their excitement and teamwork were truly amazing to watch.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for our students are to continue expanding their understanding of geometry, scale, measurement, and design through additional collaborative projects. Students will reflect on the mathematical properties of the shapes they created and explain how geometric nets connect to real-world architecture and engineering. We also plan to incorporate writing and presentation skills as groups present their Geocities to classmates and explain the math behind their designs.\r\n\r\nI am incredibly excited about how this project turned out and already cannot wait to improve and use it again with future classes. Seeing students so engaged, creative, and confident has inspired many new ideas for future hands-on STEM and math projects. This experience showed students that math can be interactive, collaborative, and fun, and I look forward to building on this success for years to come.\r\n\r\nYour generosity provided more than just classroom materials — it created opportunities for creativity, collaboration, confidence, and hands-on learning that my students will remember for years to come. While many people think of reading as simply enjoying a story, these texts are helping students build essential literacy skills every day. Students are practicing comprehension, vocabulary development, making predictions, identifying themes, and supporting their thinking with evidence from the text. Many of the books also encourage social-emotional learning by helping students explore empathy, perseverance, kindness, and different perspectives through relatable characters and situations.\r\nSeveral students who were previously hesitant readers are especially connecting with these books. Having access to high-interest, engaging titles has helped build their confidence and willingness to participate. One student who rarely volunteered during reading discussions now eagerly raises their hand to talk about plot twists and favorite characters. Another student has started choosing to read during free time because they finally found books that reflect their interests and experiences. Your donation made it possible for me to access creative, high-quality lessons designed and shared by other educators, helping bring engaging and meaningful learning opportunities directly into our classroom.\r\n\r\nUsing resources from Teachers Pay Teachers, I was able to find creative lessons that supported our Ancient Egypt unit. As part of the unit, students completed a STEM challenge where they designed and created their own obelisks inspired by the structures built in Ancient Egypt. With the materials you provided, students used the LEGO-style bricks, cardstock, and clay tools to carefully construct their models while thinking about balance, structure, and design.\r\n\r\nWhat excited students most was the opportunity to build something with their own hands while connecting it to what they were learning about history and engineering. Watching their ideas take shape made the learning feel more real and engaging, and students were very proud of the obelisks they created.\r\n\r\nThis activity also supported important executive functioning skills. Students needed to plan how they would build their obelisk, organize their materials, and work through challenges that came up during the construction process. When parts of their structure didn't work the way they expected, students practiced problem-solving and flexible thinking to adjust their designs and continue building.\r\n\r\nSome students who don't always feel as confident during traditional assignments really connected with this hands-on activity. Working independently allowed them to focus on their own design and pace, and many showed persistence as they revised their structures to make them stronger and more stable.\r\n\r\nYour generosity helped make this engaging learning experience possible. Your contribution has opened the door to exciting hands-on learning experiences that help bring creativity, engineering, and problem-solving together for our students.\r\n\r\nThe 3D pens allow students to turn abstract ideas into physical creations, which helps deepen their understanding of STEM concepts. For example, our 5th graders recently used the pens during a STEM unit to construct geometric heart structures, combining math concepts like angles, shapes, and spatial reasoning with engineering and design. Younger students have also been using the pens to create personalized name decorations, which strengthens fine motor skills while encouraging creativity and pride in their work.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most about the 3D pens is the ability to bring their imagination to life. They love seeing their ideas take shape right in front of them as they build structures layer by layer. The hands-on nature of the tool makes learning feel like experimentation and discovery.\r\n\r\nBeyond creativity and STEM learning, the 3D pens have also helped students develop important executive functioning skills. Students must plan their designs, organize their materials, manage their time, and adjust when something doesn't go as expected. They practice persistence and flexible thinking when a structure doesn't hold or when they need to revise their design. These moments help students build confidence in problem-solving and strengthen the self-management skills that support success in many areas of learning.\r\n\r\nSome students who are usually hesitant to participate in traditional lessons have really connected with this technology. Hands-on learners, in particular, have found a space where they can shine. A few students who often struggle with focus have shown impressive concentration while carefully constructing their designs, and others have stepped into leadership roles by helping classmates troubleshoot or demonstrating new techniques.\r\n\r\nYour generosity is making a meaningful difference in our classroom. We use it in small groups, and my students love the anticipation of guessing their word before the little figure falls. They cheer when they win and laugh every time he drops. They are fully engaged, building letter-sound knowledge without even realizing how much they're learning.\r\n\r\nThe ink refills have probably had the biggest practical impact. We print constantly for hands-on learning, and having reliable ink allows us to create fresh activities whenever students need them. Most recently, we printed a beginning-sounds turkey sort, and it was a huge success during our literacy centers.\r\n\r\nThe voice amplifier has also been such a gift. The magnetic microphone is easy to wear, and my students can hear me clearly from anywhere in the classroom. The alphabet chart has also been so engaging; students sing the letters and sounds while touching each letter, and they love tracing their own names with a dry erase marker multiple times for practice. Having a full class set of matching scissors has eliminated conflicts about which ones to use, and they've been put to good use for crafts and fine motor practice. The larger crayons have also been a huge improvement—students are still developing their grips, but the size has helped reduce breakage and made them easier to keep track of.
