The new materials are woven into our learning centers and small-group activities, where students pinch, grasp, twist, trace, and build with purpose. These hands-on tasks support skills they need for writing, cutting, buttoning, and overall independence, while still feeling fun and playful.\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, their excitement was immediate. They were eager to explore and couldn't wait to try everything out. For many of them, these activities didn't feel like \"practice\" at all—they felt like games. I've noticed students who previously struggled with hand strength or coordination showing more confidence and persistence, proudly sharing what they've created or mastered.\r\nBecause of your generosity, my classroom is a place where students can safely develop these essential skills at their own pace. We are now building on this progress by increasing task complexity, encouraging longer focus time, and connecting fine motor practice to early writing and academic tasks. Your support has made a lasting impact, helping my students develop the foundation they need for success both in and out of the classroom. Thank you for investing in their growth.","fullyFundedDate":1769177324869,"projectUrl":"project/strong-hands-strong-minds/9748010/","projectTitle":"Strong Hands, Strong Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. O'Keefe","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1928102_orig.jpg?crop=919,919,x0,y30&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1713788236715","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1928102"},{"teacherId":1928102,"projectId":10053311,"letterContent":"The fidgets purchased for my classroom have been a positive addition to my Young Fives learning environment. When the students first received them, they were excited and curious, and many immediately expressed how special it felt to have their own tool to use during the day. We spent time practicing how to use the fidgets appropriately, and the students quickly understood that these tools are meant to help their bodies and brains focus, not distract.\r\n\r\nThroughout the day, students use the fidgets in a variety of purposeful ways. Some hold them during whole-group lessons to keep their hands busy while listening, while others use them during independent work or small-group activities to help maintain attention. Students who struggle with sitting still or managing sensory needs have especially benefited, as the fidgets provide a quiet, calming outlet without disrupting learning.\r\n\r\nOverall, the fidgets have supported self-regulation, focus, and engagement in the classroom. Students are more aware of their own needs and are beginning to independently choose strategies that help them learn best. The positive reactions and responsible use I've seen show that these fidgets are an effective tool for supporting my Young Fives students both socially and academically.","fullyFundedDate":1769662731414,"projectUrl":"project/fidgets-for-focus/10053311/","projectTitle":"Fidgets for Focus","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. O'Keefe","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1928102_orig.jpg?crop=919,919,x0,y30&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1713788236715","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1928102"},{"teacherId":9448570,"projectId":9646051,"letterContent":"What a joy it is knowing that such wonderful people stepped in to help my students have a cozy place to gather while learning. They had no idea you could vacuum a rug with no electricity involved. They have clamored to be the person to keep the rug lint-free! Your donation has made a real, tangible impact on student learning, and I'm excited to share just how transformative this technology has been for my students.\r\n\r\nSince we began using Osmo, the energy in the room has been electric. The students are deeply engaged with the interactive activities, and I've seen a remarkable increase in their enthusiasm for learning—especially in areas like math, letter practice, problem-solving, and creative thinking. The hands-on, visual approach Osmo offers taps into multiple learning styles, making it a powerful tool for differentiation. Students who typically struggle to stay focused during traditional lessons are now fully engaged and eager to participate\r\n\r\nOne of the most exciting things about Osmo is how it brings learning to life. Whether they're solving math puzzles using tangible pieces or building letters, the immediate feedback and gamified experience keeps them motivated and smiling. It turns learning into play—without compromising educational value.\r\n\r\nSome students have truly blossomed with the help of Osmo. \r\n\r\nStudents who love art and storytelling, are captivated by the Osmo Masterpiece and Storytelling games. \r\n\r\nStudents who have some learning differences, are thriving with the multisensory nature of Osmo. They are showing marked improvement in letter recognition and early math concepts—and most importantly, they are having fun while learning.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this possible. Your generosity has helped open new doors for my students—not just in how they learn, but in how they see themselves as learners. We brainstormed ways to play such as pretending the center was a house, a restaurant and a coffee shop.
