With your donation, I was able to purchase a couple of impactful lessons from Teachers Pay Teachers that focuses on reading and fostering the love of reading in my 6th grade students.\r\nOne of the supplies I purchased was the \"Independent Reading Bundle for Middle School.\" This product allowed the students to explore the different genres and take mini quizzes to see what genre they might be interested in. They loved that the book recommendations took into consideration their hobbies and interests. \r\nWe were also able to use this resource to make some choices on what novel they would want to read for the second half of the year.\r\nI'm happy to say that these kiddos really developed a fondness for Ancient Civilizations after reading \"The Lightning Thief\" (Greek Mythology) that they are looking forward to reading \"The Red Pyramid\"( Ancient Egypt) by the same author! I am so delighted to see the spark return for reading! We are beyond excited to have these materials. Students are helping design costumes and props for the big show in March. We are going to use our Cricut machine to help print out costumes pieces that students can sew together with our machine. \r\nWhen students saw our boxes of materials, they could not wait get started on our props such as cardboard vegetables, socks, and utensils. We are helping students use the cardboard cutters to saw shapes out of the cardboard so they are ready to paint.
