Because of you, our classroom now has a dedicated U-shaped table that has completely transformed how we come together as a community.\r\n\r\nWe use this table daily during our social-emotional learning lessons, small group counseling sessions, and restorative circles. One moment that really stood out was during a recent circle where students were sharing about friendship challenges. Sitting in the U-shape allowed every student to see one another, make eye contact, and truly listen. A student who rarely speaks raised their hand and shared their feelings, and the group responded with empathy and support. It was such a powerful moment—and one that wouldn't have felt the same without this intentional space.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the table, they were immediately excited. Many commented on how \"official\" it felt and how much they liked being able to see everyone. There was a noticeable shift in how they approached discussions—they were more engaged, more respectful, and more willing to participate.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue to use this space to strengthen communication, build relationships, and support students in developing essential social and emotional skills. We are also connecting this work to upcoming lessons around college and career readiness, helping students practice collaboration, speaking, and active listening—skills they will carry far beyond the classroom.\r\n\r\nYour support has created more than just a piece of furniture—it has created a space where students feel safe, heard, and valued. The students have enjoyed the snacks and it gives them an extra motivation for prizes while in the group. The space has been clean and comfortable, giving the students the opportunity to sit in more comfortable positions.\r\n\r\nThe students get excited when entering group, or during the day, because they know there is a spot to locate a snack to give them an extra brain boost throughout the day.
