While this year's ceremony has not taken place yet, my students were incredibly excited when they learned that the project was fully funded. Many immediately began asking questions about the decorations, treat bags, and how the celebration will look, which created a sense of anticipation and pride in being recognized for their hard work.\r\n\r\nWe are currently using the materials to plan and prepare for the ceremony, including assembling treat bags and organizing a dignified, welcoming space for students and their families. I am also sharing photos from last year's ceremony with my classes so they can see what this tradition looks like and understand that their achievements will be celebrated in the same way. Seeing those images has sparked meaningful conversations about goals, perseverance, and what it means to be honored for their efforts.\r\n\r\nThis ceremony is more than a single event; it is part of a broader effort to build belonging, motivation, and college- and career-ready mindsets. With your donations, the celebration for the Class of 2026 will be even more organized, joyful, and impactful than last year. Our next steps include finalizing student recognitions, involving families, and continuing to connect this experience to classroom discussions about achievement, identity, and future aspirations. Something as simple as having deodorant, wipes, or body spray available made them feel valued and cared for.\r\n\r\nSince receiving these resources, students have been able to focus more on their learning instead of worrying about personal discomfort or embarrassment. I've seen a noticeable boost in participation and confidence—students are raising their hands more, engaging in group work, and showing up ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWe've also connected this project to our ongoing classroom goals around self-care, confidence, and respect for self and others.
