When the items arrived, it was exciting to see everything together and imagine how we could put each one to work for our students. The activity supplies will help students enjoy time together, while the cleaning and classroom supplies will help me care for a library used by students throughout the school day. The new materials also help me make our library a welcoming place where children can explore books, share ideas, and take pride in what they create. Our students notice when their school has supplies chosen with their learning in mind. Your support tells them that their creativity and love of reading matter to people beyond our school walls.\r\n\r\nWe are especially grateful for the little laminator. It may seem like a small piece of equipment, but I know we will use it often. Our students love making bookmarks, and during our bookmark contests, the laminator will help turn their designs into keepsakes they can actually use in the books they check out. Children put so much thought into their drawings, colors, and messages. Being able to laminate their finished bookmarks will protect that work and make it feel even more special. I can already picture students proudly showing their bookmarks to classmates and families, then bringing them back to the library tucked inside their next book. We will also use the laminator for signs, learning activities, and other materials that need to hold up through repeated use. Having one right in the library will make it much easier to prepare those resources and reuse them with many classes. It is a practical gift that will continue helping us long after this project is complete.\r\n\r\nAs an elementary school librarian, I see how meaningful it is when a child finds a book that captures their interest or discovers a new way to express what they have learned. These supplies will help us connect reading with art and hands-on activities, giving students more reasons to look forward to library time. They will support everyday lessons as well as special projects that bring our school community together. The flexibility (all the puns intended) will allow me to use and adapt the bands as needed for my various class sizes. \r\n\r\nBoth the stretchy bands and rings will be making appearances in my lessons very soon as I will be using them in my \"back to school\" songs with my PK students.
