I wanted to take this opportunity to shower you with many thanks and gratitude for your contributions and gift. The funding you provided for my project gave me the ability to purchase and utilize materials for students that are grounding, educational, and rooted in trauma and safety-informed care. Everything I selected was chosen with getting needs met in mind. Through your generosity, I have been able to nurture and cultivate students' self regulation, mindfulness, creativity, and coping skills, so that they feel safety and stability, which then assists them in discovering their own self-determination, autonomy, and survival skills. \r\n\r\nI ended up donating some items to our ECFE/Pre-K ASD room, which included a beanbag chair and fidgets, as their need was high. My colleagues report that they love their chair, and that the kiddos often barter for who gets to sit in it– this often turns into 3 at a time trying to sit on it! A couple of favorite activities have been making \"anger volcanoes\" with cloud clay and discussing the anger iceberg. \r\n\r\nThe snacks have filled hungry bellies, the art supplies have enabled students to express their emotions through art therapy techniques, and the overall atmosphere is one of security and warmth.
