My students were so excited to see the snacks arrive, and there were plenty of smiles when they realized that these treats were going to become part of our afternoon learning routine.\r\n\r\nWe use the snacks during the long stretch between our early lunch and the end of the school day. Having popcorn, Pringles, toaster pastries, and potato chips available gives students an opportunity to refuel when hungry tummies begin to make focusing difficult. I have seen how much easier it is for students to settle back into their work when they are comfortable, energized, and ready to learn. The towels are also being used for quick cleanups, helping our classroom stay neat and ready for learning.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments has been watching students enjoy their snack while continuing to talk, read, practice math skills, or work with their classmates. Something as simple as a snack creates a moment where students feel cared for and reminds them that their needs matter in our classroom.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to keep building on this positive learning environment as we move through our second-grade lessons. With full bellies and focused minds, my Tiger Cubs are ready to tackle new challenges, participate in hands-on activities, and celebrate the progress they make each day.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students and helping make our classroom a place where every child can feel supported, included, and ready to learn. By providing Diamond Art and Paint-with-Sticker Kits as part of our PBIS reward system, it has strengthened the way we recognize and celebrate positive student behavior in a consistent, engaging way.\r\n\r\nIn my classroom, students are more motivated to follow expectations because they know their choices can lead to something special and hands-on during club time. It has created an excitement around being respectful, responsible, and kind—not just because those behaviors are expected, but because they are genuinely rewarded and noticed.\r\n\r\nI've also seen growth beyond behavior. These creative activities give my students a calm, focused outlet where they practice patience, perseverance, and attention to detail. For many learners, it is a peaceful, screen-free space that helps them regulate emotions and reset after a busy academic day. Completing a project from start to finish builds confidence, and students take real pride in their finished work.\r\n\r\nMost importantly, it has helped reinforce a positive classroom culture. Students are encouraging one another, striving to earn participation, and taking ownership of their behavior in a way that feels supportive rather than punitive. It has shifted the energy toward celebration, growth, and shared success.\r\n\r\nThis would not be possible without the generosity and support of those who made this project happen. You'll see students gathered on the carpet sharing reactions, turning and talking with partners, and making personal connections to the characters.
