Having popcorn, Pringles, toaster pastries, and potato chips available gives students an opportunity to refuel when hungry tummies begin to make focusing difficult. I have seen how much easier it is for students to settle back into their work when they are comfortable, energized, and ready to learn. The towels are also being used for quick cleanups, helping our classroom stay neat and ready for learning.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments has been watching students enjoy their snack while continuing to talk, read, practice math skills, or work with their classmates.
