Because of your generosity, we now have a proper storage system for toiletries, hygiene products, and personal care items. The \"Softmaxxing Center\" has quickly become one of the most discussed destinations on campus. Students stop by throughout the day, not just when they're in need, but because it has become a normalized, welcoming part of our school culture. The neat bins and shelves make it easy for students to find exactly what they need, whether it's deodorant, a toothbrush, or feminine hygiene products, and to do so with ease and privacy rather than embarrassment.\r\n\r\nThe impact on our students' sense of worth has been profound. For many, having reliable access to basic hygiene items means being able to walk into class feeling clean, confident, and ready to learn, rather than distracted or self-conscious. Students have shared that simply knowing the center exists, and that adults on campus care enough to provide for these needs, makes them feel seen and valued in a way that goes far beyond the physical items themselves. Dignity isn't something that should be conditional on a family's income, and thanks to your kindness, our students no longer have to choose between comfort and confidence. Thank you for reminding our students, in such a tangible way, that they matter and that their basic needs and their dignity are worth investing in.","fullyFundedDate":1778082183771,"projectUrl":"project/dignity-shouldnt-be-a-luxury/10215118/","projectTitle":"Dignity Shouldn't Be A Luxury","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Guzman","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9278908_orig.jpg?crop=686,686,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725751981749","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9278908"},{"teacherId":9278908,"projectId":10206077,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for funding our \"Classroom Library Built to Last\" project! What was once a corner with books piled haphazardly is now an inviting center of knowledge. Students praised the reading center, and their energy gave the whole area a warm, welcoming feel, making it clear this is a space designed just for them.\r\n\r\nMany of our learners come from homes where books are scarce, and having a well-organized, dedicated library right in their classroom has given them daily access to stories and information they might not otherwise encounter. We've encouraged reluctant readers to pick up chapter books for the first time, and curiosity in literacy has piqued. This growing appreciation for books of all kinds is exactly what we hoped to cultivate, and it wouldn't have been possible without your kindness.
