Because of your donation, our students were able to prepare for and participate in a recent esports tournament hosted by the San Bernardino County Department of Education. We had nine students compete—one of the largest teams among participating schools—and three of our students were invited to advance to the county championship. We are incredibly proud to share that one of those students earned first place at the tournament. This opportunity would not have been possible without your support.\r\nThe technology and equipment provided through this project have helped students learn in ways that go far beyond gaming. Students are developing critical thinking, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills while learning to use technology responsibly and purposefully. In our classroom, students are learning how technology can be a tool for collaboration, goal-setting, and personal growth. What excites students most is being part of a structured, school-supported program where their interests are valued and connected to learning.\r\nSeveral students who do not always participate in traditional extracurricular activities have truly found their place through esports. This program has given them a positive reason to connect with peers, build confidence, and feel more engaged with school. Seeing students support one another during practices and competitions has been incredibly rewarding. Your generosity has helped create a welcoming space where students feel motivated, included, and proud of their accomplishments. Thank you for believing in our students and investing in their success.","fullyFundedDate":1759196830748,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-based-esports/9388179/","projectTitle":"Classroom Based Esports","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Jauss","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9417497_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1759121814604","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9417497"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_24920","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":643,"numTeachers":28,"percentFrplEligible":32,"percentAsian":7,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":30,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":53,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"7 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"23.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":89.8,"schoolId":24920,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Alta Loma Junior High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Alta Loma Junior High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/alta-loma-elementary-school-district/alta-loma-junior-high-school/24920"}
