Instead of just reading about measurement in a textbook, students are actively applying these concepts by weighing rocks, classroom objects, and lab materials, then using water displacement to calculate volume. One memorable moment was watching students excitedly compare results and realize that two objects of similar size could have very different masses. The scales helped turn an abstract concept into something real, measurable, and meaningful.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the scales, their reactions were immediate excitement and curiosity. They were eager to test different objects and couldn't wait to see the numbers change as they experimented. Many students who are usually hesitant to participate jumped right in, asking thoughtful questions and helping their peers record data. The tools gave them confidence and made them feel like real scientists conducting authentic experiments.\r\n\r\nThe next step for my students is to use these scales in deeper investigations, including calculating density and designing their own experiments using irregular objects of their choice. These experiences are building strong scientific skills such as data collection, analysis, and collaboration. Your support has made science more engaging, accessible, and exciting for my students, and it has truly made a lasting impact in our classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1762267588872,"projectUrl":"project/mass-tering-science/9851157/","projectTitle":"Mass-tering Science!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Bravo-Rius","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp3179382_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1473000616009","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/nbravorius"},{"teacherId":3179382,"projectId":9548135,"letterContent":"Thanks to this project, my students are more engaged and excited about science than ever! Having access to BrainPOP has completely transformed the way we explore complex topics. The videos, quizzes, and interactive activities make abstract science concepts easier to understand and much more fun to learn.\r\n\r\nNow, instead of passively reading from a textbook, my students are actively discussing, predicting, and connecting ideas through BrainPOP lessons. It has supported students at all levels, especially those who need visuals or extra practice, to build confidence and curiosity in science.\r\n\r\nThis resource has also allowed me to differentiate instruction more effectively and bring every unit to life with interactive animations and hands-on digital tools. The excitement on my students' faces when a new topic \"pops\" up is the best reminder of how powerful engaging technology can be.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping make science something my students look forward to every day.
