These materials will make a difference in my students' learning because it will allow them to participate in activities that are geared towards them becoming fluent readers and critical thinkers. While at the same time using technology in a fast driven world. The materials will help create small group stations where students can learn and practice the skills necessary to learn how to read and speak English, as well as learn vital critical thinking skills. For example, the Hot Dots pens and programs will allow students to develop their reading skills which in turn will help their speaking and reading comprehension. The Hot Dot pens will also be used along with a science program that will give the students an opportunity to explore a future area of study or work. The iPad and Osmo will allow students to build their critical thinking skills through a diverse range of activities such as math and art. Which will provide a well-rounded and inclusive learning. These two particular programs will boost critical thinking skills tremendously as well as their self-esteem and morale. They will be excited to come to school and learn. Even though they often feel home sick due to their current life situation. The materials will allow for small stations to be created in which students will be able to easily learn due to the low teacher student ratio involved. The materials will give students an opportunity to learn and thrive. They will provide students with a more leveled playing field to their English speaking peers.
