I wanted to share how we've been using the new resources and the impact they've already made on our students.\r\n\r\nWe use the sensory materials every day during our social-emotional learning sessions. Students choose items from the sensory shelf to help them regulate before beginning a task, and the new bookcase has quickly become a favorite spot for selecting calm-down books. One of my favorite moments so far happened during a small-group session: a student who often struggles to communicate independently walked over to the shelf, picked up a sensory animal, and said, \"I want squshie.\" It was such a powerful step in building self-advocacy and emotional awareness.\r\n\r\nThe students' reactions when they first saw the materials were priceless. Several gasped as they entered the room because the space looked so different from last year. They immediately began exploring the sensory toys, pointing out their favorites, and asking if they could use them right away. Their excitement reminded me how meaningful these tools are for their comfort, confidence, and growth.\r\n\r\nMy next step is to continue using these materials and resources as my students and their needs grow and change throughout the years. Thank you so much for being a part of this journey with us.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making such a meaningful difference in our classroom. We are truly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1746785609084,"projectUrl":"project/a-corner-for-clear-communication-and-cal/9186821/","projectTitle":"A Corner for Clear Communication and Calm Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jessica","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9705192_orig.jpg?crop=1676,1676,x423,y1050&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724722041043","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9705192"},{"teacherId":9705192,"projectId":8699983,"letterContent":"I want to take a moment to sincerely thank you for your generous contribution to our Sound Success- Articulation project. Your support has made such a difference in my classroom, and I can't express enough how much it's helped both me and my students.\r\nSince receiving the cards, the time I once spent organizing and preparing materials has been greatly reduced It has allowed me to focus more directly on my students, providing them with the support they need to make progress with their speech goals. The cards have also helped me diversify the tools I can use in therapy, giving me new ways to engage with the students. It's truly a joy to witness their confidence grow along with their skills.\r\nOne of the students' favorite ways to use the cards is through our made-up game. In this activity, we challenge each other to try tongue twisters with 3-6 specific sound words. It's a fun way to practice articulation, and the students absolutely love it! The laughter and excitement that fills the room as they try to outdo each other is priceless. Thank you so much for helping make that happen. \r\nLooking ahead, the students are continuing to improve their articulation and language. I'm planning on incorporating even more challenging sounds and variations of the game into our future lessons, which will help them develop greater speech clarity and confidence. The progress they've made over the past few months has been remarkable!\r\nThank you again for your generosity and for making such a tangible impact on my students' lives. Your donation is not just a gift—it's a tool that helps my students express themselves more clearly and joyfully. I am so grateful for your kindness and commitment to helping them succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1729767226524,"projectUrl":"project/sound-success-articulation/8699983/","projectTitle":"Sound Success- Articulation","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jessica","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9705192_orig.jpg?crop=1676,1676,x423,y1050&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1724722041043","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9705192"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_4597","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":376,"numTeachers":8,"percentFrplEligible":60,"percentAsian":13,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":64,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"47.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":85.5,"schoolId":4597,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Allen Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Allen Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/california/san-bruno-park-school-district/allen-elementary-school/4597"}
