The whiteboards have been especially helpful during our practice sessions. We use them for quick, interactive exercises where students can work out problems and instantly show their answers. This instant feedback helps us adjust on the fly, and students get more comfortable with concepts like solving equations or working with fractions.\r\n\r\nOne of the standout moments was when we did a \"Math Sprint\" activity. Each student had a whiteboard, and they had to solve as many problems as possible in a set amount of time. The caddies made it so easy to grab all their materials—markers, erasers, and wipes—and they could quickly clean off their boards in between rounds. It was amazing to see the energy in the room as students raced to solve problems while keeping their areas clean and organized. The seat covers have also made a difference, as students can now stay focused and comfortable during longer lessons without worrying about messy desks.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, they were pumped! The whiteboards were a big hit because they immediately saw how it would help them practice more and get feedback faster. I think they really appreciated the caddies, too—it gave them a sense of ownership over their workspace, and they loved having everything in one place. The Clorox wipes were a pleasant surprise—students were eager to take turns cleaning their areas, which kept the classroom feeling fresh and focused. Overall, they felt like the classroom was getting a little upgrade, and that made them more excited to engage with the lessons.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for our math lessons involve building on those foundational skills with more complex problem-solving tasks. We'll be moving into group work where students will collaborate to solve multi-step word problems. The whiteboards will be essential for this, as students can quickly jot down their ideas and discuss solutions with peers. They'll also be using the caddies to stay organized with their materials—markers for brainstorming, erasers for refining solutions, and the wipes to clean up after each round of problem-solving.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, I plan to have students take turns leading mini-lessons, where they'll present a math concept they've mastered using the whiteboards and caddies to facilitate their presentation. This will not only reinforce their understanding but also help them develop leadership skills and confidence in sharing knowledge. We're going to keep the energy high and the space clean, and I know these resources will continue to support their growth as mathematicians.","fullyFundedDate":1746785698855,"projectUrl":"project/essential-classroom-supplies-for-math-ma/9323161/","projectTitle":"Essential Classroom Supplies for Math Mastery","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Valenzuela","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9629226_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1747109635266","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9629226"},{"teacherId":3440514,"projectId":9362177,"letterContent":"Thank you for donating to my project that benefits the students, staff, and visitors at Cedar Crest Elementary. We are already using them. The penlights will help me be able to do neurological assessments on students who may or may not have a head injury. The girls have already been using the sanitary pads because they feel safe coming to get them from the clinic when they need to. Everyone has been using the Lysol wipes to help clean furniture and items in their rooms, staff and students. The printer ink has definitely helped me be able to continue printing information to students, parents, and staff members. It will also help me be able to continue to print medical referrals to give to students as I work summer school this summer.
