To date, the students and I are using all the clear bins we received to organize and categorize the short chapter books and nonfiction books in our library collection. For example, the short chapter books are now divided into the bins by the series or genre. Using the bins allows students to see the variety of books in our library. The books are all forward-facing in the bins, so students are able to see the book covers and easily flip through the contents to search for a book of interest.\r\n\r\nWhen students saw the bins and the newly organized sections, they were excited. Some students even thought we had new books when in fact, they were now able to see the books because they were no longer \"spine out.\" In addition, the number of books checked out from these newly organized sections increased immediately simply because students were able to browse books more efficiently and see what was available.\r\n\r\nIn the future, our next step is to organize the graphic novels and picture books into bins in our library. When we do this, students will have the same opportunities to increase engagement, \"shop\" for books of interest easily, and grow exposure to the variety of texts in our library. Thank you again for helping students find books they love.","fullyFundedDate":1756147918767,"projectUrl":"project/clear-organizing-bins-to-help-students-f/9610438/","projectTitle":"Clear Organizing Bins to Help Students Find Visually Enticing Books","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ashley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8168440_orig.jpg?crop=1953,1953,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755359824197","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8168440"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_67159","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":449,"numTeachers":30,"percentFrplEligible":18,"percentAsian":43,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":25,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":22,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"1 - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"15.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":80.1,"schoolId":67159,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Albert Einstein Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Albert Einstein Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/washington/lake-washington-school-district-414/albert-einstein-elementary-school/67159"}
