I told them to look up the things in their life that make them happy (examples include- video games, apps, planes, and cosmetics. They had to tell me more about those things and the people who created them. This was their opportunity to see the faces of people who looked like them, who may have had the same upbringing and setbacks in life- but still succeeded in accomplishing great things. They could also be someone scholars look up to for their inventions.\r\n\r\nOne Student who never liked to talk completed his project with our technology and took the time to help others. It was his way of getting better and making friends. I praised his work and his building community with his classmates and could see the pride he had in himself. \r\n\r\nMy students doubted themselves and their use of technology but in no time they saw what I see every day, They are capable of anything they put their minds to.
