You would've thought it was a holiday. They were so excited to see healthy snacks and flavored drink mixes just for them. I explained that these came from generous donors who wanted to support our classroom community, and you could see the pride in their faces knowing someone cared enough to give to them. It was such a special moment — one student even said, \"They did this for us?!\"\r\n\r\nWe've been using these snacks to keep our energy up during reading groups, writing workshops, and long test prep days. It's amazing how something as simple as a granola bar or flavored water can reset their focus and keep spirits high. The students now call it our \"brain fuel,\" and they've been more engaged and motivated during our ELA lessons because they don't have to worry about being hungry or tired.\r\n\r\nOur next step is diving into our current writing unit, where students are creating personal narratives that connect to real-life experiences. These snacks have turned into a little incentive system — helping them stay on task and celebrate milestones in their writing process. I'm so grateful for your kindness; it's truly made our classroom feel supported, cared for, and ready to keep learning with full hearts (and full bellies).","fullyFundedDate":1746787231444,"projectUrl":"project/fuel-for-success-snacks-to-power-our-te/9221304/","projectTitle":"Fuel for Success: Snacks to Power Our Test-Takers!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Baker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9617269_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1746792782028","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9617269"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_108193","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":744,"numTeachers":36,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":90,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"20.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":58.3,"schoolId":108193,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Advantage Charter Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Advantage Charter Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/louisiana/louisiana-state-board-of-elementary-and-secondary-education/advantage-charter-school/108193"}
