It has been a major help to have interesting and new items on the tables to get the students into centers. The 1:1 counting has helped students grow their skills and push them closer to mastering their goals. Students are always asking for the counting and patterning boards to help them separate their work and make it easier to see each individual item.\r\n\r\nAs the teacher in the Autistic Support classroom, getting my students motivated to attend the table can be the most difficult part. With these materials, the students natural curiosity takes over and makes attending 10x easier. These items are easy for my paras to notice and pick up as well. With the use of this changing table, my students have been able to regain their independence and climb up and down the stairs rather then be picked up. With the extra storage we've been able to keep extra clothes and separate the students diapers and wipes 10x easier. Since the cabinet has locks, we are able to keep the students out of the items when they are not in use. \r\n\r\nThe staff in my room love the changing table and it allows for them to change diapers quickly and get the student back into learning. My students absolutely loved being able to sit on the cushions as they participated in morning meeting. They also loved to sit down and regulate with the weighted book in the calm down corner, being able to flip through the pages was something the students were excited to try. For my students who needed to rock to self soothe and meet their sensory goals, the rocking chair worked perfectly! The students ADORED being able to rock without hitting their head on anything and be able to safely meet their needs.
