I was able to host an art club in Spokane, Washington. It was an after school program that served 100 K-2 students. The water colors were amazing. It was so wonderful to have the skin tones and the water color paper. The metallic watercolors made it even more special. During the class we worked on self portraits and had an art show. The watercolor paper was a supply that I will be asking for forever now. I have used the watercolor paper in so many projects like mothers day and Christmas presents. The watercolor paper was so valuable and not a supply that I can get through the school system. It made the children's art last and durable. \r\n\r\nThen I moved to California and I took my supplies with me. I worked at an impoverished school in El Cajon, San Diego. Where I ran an after school art club. I do love art. Please send me art supplies! I worked with 6th graders who were living in homelessness in an afterschool program. We used all of the supplies and gave kids time to play with the materials. A lot of my memories of using these supplies involve signing children. We would put the music on and paint. Take chances, make mistakes and get messy.\r\n\r\nNow I work in Logan Barrio, San Diego, another low income school, and I still have the supplies. They have lasted a long time. We are still using the paints. The double paint pans are so fun. Not every water color comes with 16 colors. We are still using the paints. I don't have a lot of pictures of projects. I am teacher who has no brain at the end of the day. But I promise that your donation touched hundreds of students in Washington and California. But more importantly they helped me! They helped me be a better educator by giving me the supplies I need. So thank you for donating to me.","fullyFundedDate":1645549888094,"projectUrl":"project/how-painting-can-heal/5967924/","projectTitle":"How Painting Can Heal","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Porter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7122008_orig.jpg?crop=2735,2735,x0,y109&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1635614561807","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7122008"},{"teacherId":7440820,"projectId":9113349,"letterContent":"First, I want to thank you for your generous donations! You have helped me so unbelievably much, but more importantly, you have helped my students!\r\nMy students used the CVC chart to hone their skills with decoding three letter words. Not only did it improve their reading skills but it also greatly improved their writing skills within a very short amount of time! We moved onto silent e words and my students reading and writing skills soared after that! They were able to master using diagraphs (sh/ch/th) sounds and ended the year with the highest levels of reading and writing I have ever seen in my years teaching kindergarten. The resources you helped provide helped my students to practice these advanced skills in fun and engaging ways to the point of mastery! Thanks to you, these kindergarteners will enter first grade not only ready, but ahead of the curve!\r\nThank you on behalf of my students, their families, my colleagues who also used the resources, and myself.","fullyFundedDate":1739645252084,"projectUrl":"project/advanced-learners-in-kindergarten/9113349/","projectTitle":"Advanced Learners in Kindergarten!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wells","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7440820"},{"teacherId":9931877,"projectId":9132156,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation that made it possible for our classroom to receive a new rug. In a kindergarten classroom, the rug is more than just a soft place to sit — it is the heart of our learning environment. Every morning, it becomes our meeting place for greetings and songs. Throughout the day, it transforms into a space for stories, lessons, play-based learning, and moments of calm. Your gift created a warm, welcoming spot where young learners can come together, feel safe, and grow both socially and academically.\r\n\r\nSince the rug arrived, I've seen a noticeable difference in how the students engage with one another and participate in group activities. It gives them a clear, cozy space to focus and learn together — whether they're practicing letters, solving puzzles, or simply listening with wide eyes during storytime. The rug fosters a sense of community and belonging that is so essential at this age. Thank you again for supporting our classroom and helping to create a nurturing space where curiosity and connection can thrive.","fullyFundedDate":1741040102208,"projectUrl":"project/comfort-and-creativity-for-every-student/9132156/","projectTitle":"Comfort and Creativity for Every Student","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gibbs","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9931877"},{"teacherId":7440820,"projectId":8693901,"letterContent":"We have been using the materials you have helped provide our classroom every day! We use the games during small groups and my students are so far ahead in their learning, thanks to you! The kids were BEYOND excited when I shared the new materials we received. They worked together to share them because they all wanted to use them! Since using these materials, all of our students have mastered their letters and letter sounds, are writing and spelling words, writing multiple sentences, and are fluently adding and subtracting numbers within 5! This is the first year in my career where my students are approaching end-of-year kindergarten goals in the middle of the school year. The main difference between this group and previous groups? The resources you have provided. We are beginning to introduce the concepts of silent e in spelling and reading, digraphs (sh/ch/th/ck/wh), counting money, first grade level addition and subtraction, and so much more! I cannot express my appreciation for you, your generous donation, and just how much your generosity has impacted my class.
