Having durable, magnetic whiteboards in the classroom helps keep my second graders engaged in hands-on literacy and math activities. The use of whiteboards in large and small group settings allows students to show their thinking. I am able to monitor their learning and provide them with support. Through the use of magnetic whiteboards, students can build their sight word knowledge using magnetic letters to make words and word patterns. We would use magnetic whiteboards during small group math and calendar lessons to help students engage and show their thinking.
