These kits have been absolutely transformative in our science instruction!\r\n\r\nThe hands-on nature of the circuit kits has engaged every single student in ways that textbooks and worksheets simply cannot. I've watched students who typically struggle with abstract concepts light up with understanding as they physically connect wires and see electricity flow. The excitement in the classroom when circuits come to life is palpable—students are cheering, problem-solving together, and asking thoughtful questions about how electricity works in the real world.\r\n\r\nWhat's particularly remarkable is how these kits have fostered collaboration, critical thinking, and perseverance. When a circuit doesn't work on the first try, students eagerly troubleshoot and experiment rather than giving up. They're learning that failure is part of the scientific process, and the satisfaction they feel when they finally succeed is immeasurable.\r\n\r\nThese circuit kits have turned our science unit from good to exceptional. Students are talking about circuits at home, during lunch, and even asking when we can work with them again. Your generosity has not only enhanced our curriculum but has sparked genuine curiosity and passion for STEM in our young learners.\r\n\r\nThank you from the bottom of my heart for making this possible. Today we had our first test of the year, and having this resource to provide for students in need has been so impactful. They are able to alleviate the stress of coming to class having forgotten their calculator, or having forgotten to charge it. In some scenarios, students have been unable to afford this tool on their own yet - and they have been so grateful for the ability to borrow one when needed. Your generosity has made it possible for us to acquire the calipers that have fundamentally transformed our learning experience. The excitement on my students' faces when they began using these precision tools was truly priceless, and it's all thanks to your kindness and belief in the power of hands-on education.\r\n\r\nThe impact of your donation extends far beyond the physical tools themselves. My students are no longer confined to their computers, simply trying to mimic designs. Instead, they are actively measuring and reproducing objects with very complex geometries—all due to these calipers. This practical dimension has revolutionized our approach to CAD, enabling a deeper understanding of spatial relationships and manufacturing constraints that simply wasn't possible before. Students who previously struggled with abstract digital concepts are now eagerly engaging with physical prototypes.\r\n\r\nYour investment in these young designers demonstrates a commitment to practical, real-world education that inspires us all. The calipers you provided have introduced our students to a new dimension of prototyping and engineering thinking that will serve them throughout their educational journey and future careers. The ability to precisely measure, analyze, and recreate physical objects is an invaluable skill that bridges the gap between digital design and physical manufacturing. Please know that your support has made a tangible difference in developing the next generation of designers and engineers. Thank you for being champions of practical education and for making our dreams a reality.\r\n\r\nWith deepest appreciation,","fullyFundedDate":1738953214610,"projectUrl":"project/cad-students-innovative-designs/9020036/","projectTitle":"Cad Students' Innovative Designs","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Legault","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2273975"},{"teacherId":9882900,"projectId":9018805,"letterContent":"As a High School Math teacher I try to find the most effective ways to impact my students and encourage understanding when it comes to some difficult content. I have found that fostering a flipped classroom has given my students more access to asking questions, encouraged positive interactions with peers, allowed students to work at their own pace, given flexibility when students are absent, and reduced the amount of stress at home with homework assignments. My students are able to go home and watch an instructional video for homework where I go through the note packet with them. When they come to school they work on assignments and projects in class where they spend the full hour and a half practicing the material they watched a video on so they can work with peers when they are stuck or ask me in the moment, rather than struggle at home. \r\n\r\nAlthough my students love this model, they also love pointing out mistakes I may have made while creating the video. I previously used a document camera and would sometimes not be able to capture the whole problem. The camera would also disconnect which would then create multiple videos for one assignment. My students are thrilled to have a digital video that I can scroll and always keep the problem in the screen and keep the navigation for each assignment to one video. \r\n\r\nAs a teacher I know I am always trying to grow and keep up with my students knowledge and curiosity. I believe the use of an iPad to be able to enhance my flipped classroom model will allow me to further my ability to deliver instruction to my students rather than just a piece of paper and pencil.","fullyFundedDate":1735166749001,"projectUrl":"project/flipping-a-math-classroom-with-tech/9018805/","projectTitle":"Flipping a Math Classroom with Tech","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hytner","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9882900"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_95125","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":543,"numTeachers":13,"percentFrplEligible":2,"percentAsian":25,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":55,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"41.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":81.7,"schoolId":95125,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Academy for Science & Design on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Academy for Science & Design","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-hampshire/new-hampshire-department-of-education/academy-for-science-design/95125"}
