The materials give students hands-on tools they can use when they are feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or having difficulty focusing. Staff are also using these resources to teach and model healthy coping strategies throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nThe students were excited to see the new materials and eager to explore how they could use them. Many students were especially interested in having tools they could turn to when they needed a break or help regulating their emotions. It has been wonderful to see students begin recognizing which strategies work best for them.\r\n\r\nOur next steps are to continue teaching students new coping skills and practicing emotional regulation strategies during lessons and throughout the school day. We will continue encouraging students to identify their emotions, choose appropriate strategies, and build independence in managing big feelings so they can return to learning ready to participate.","fullyFundedDate":1778256838952,"projectUrl":"project/wellness-center/10210282/","projectTitle":"Wellness Center","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Galbraith","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8628367_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1753818525753","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8628367"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_55053","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":749,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":21,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":2,"percentWhite":47,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":40,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":8,"gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":71.9,"schoolId":55053,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Acacia Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Acacia Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arizona/vail-school-district/acacia-elementary-school/55053"}
