Students are much more engaged when they can share their thinking on whiteboards and work through problems visually. The highlighters are great for close reading and help students focus on key ideas. Even the tissues play a role—keeping students comfortable and cared for so they can stay focused on learning.\r\n\r\nThese materials have helped students feel more prepared and confident. Because of you, my students are diving into history with excitement, creativity, and curiosity.\r\n\r\nWhen I plan my lessons, I always try to find a balance between making them meaningful and fun. I've learned that giving students a chance to do something hands-on really helps them understand and remember what we're learning—especially in history, where so much of the content is completely new to them. Thanks to your donation, we now have access to chalk pastels, colored pencils, construction paper, and Flair pens—materials that help bring the ancient world to life.\r\n\r\nJust this past week, the students designed panels for our classroom \"cave\" as part of our early humans unit. They were thrilled to get their hands on the new materials and turn blank sheets into artwork inspired by the cave art we had studied. We explored the animals, symbols, and techniques used by early humans, and then they used that knowledge to create their own interpretations. Watching them make those connections—turning what they read into something they could see and touch—was incredibly powerful. It's moments like that which make teaching so rewarding.\r\n\r\nYour support doesn't just provide supplies—it helps create lasting learning experiences. Learning to touch type can be frustrating, but my students are treating their keyboard covers well, because they spent time making them their own and they care about how they look.\r\n\r\nIt's also been great to have new colored pencils and markers. When we use blue for base and red for height on parallelograms and triangles in math, it's wonderful that we actually have enough red and blue colored pencils to go around. \r\n\r\nI'm also using the caddies as the markers for each table, so each table has a color: red table, pink table, blue table, etc. The caddies make supplies really easily available to students and are such a clear and obvious way to tell where you're supposed to go.
