The excitement in our classroom has been absolutely contagious! As soon as the incubator arrived, my students gathered around, eyes wide, asking a million curious questions about how it works and when the eggs would arrive. The moment they saw the tiny thermometer and humidity gauge, they were already predicting which egg might hatch first!\r\n\r\nRight now, we are using the incubator as part of our life cycles unit, giving students a hands-on opportunity to observe and care for developing eggs. Each day, we took turns checking the temperature, adding water to keep the humidity just right, and recording daily observations in our \"hatch journals.\" This has sparked not only scientific inquiry, but also kindness, patience, and teamwork in our class.\r\n\r\nWhen those first little chicks hatch, it was a moment of pure joy—and it's all because of your support. We then learned how to care for the chicks, track their growth, and connect our classroom learning to real-world farming and sustainability practices. My students are couldn't wait to brainstorm names for the chicks.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students this unforgettable, hands-on learning experience. Your generosity has truly made a difference in our classroom, and we can't wait to continue this learning experience each year.","fullyFundedDate":1710433993270,"projectUrl":"project/chicken-fun-for-everyone/8194451/","projectTitle":"Chicken Fun for Everyone!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Patterson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8437290"},{"teacherId":9875110,"projectId":9008486,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your incredible generosity to help my students experience a classroom that has the resources they need to be in a learning environment. They now have more opportunities to be active, engage in cooperative games, and simply enjoy being kids. The parachute has quickly become a class favorite—it brings so much laughter and joy as we use it for team-building games and physical activity. The new playground balls have also encouraged more group play, helping students build friendships and stay active.\r\n\r\nYour support has not only brought smiles to their faces but also helped create a more engaging and inclusive play environment. In just two sessions, I've seen such a boost in their confidence and curiosity. The kids have embraced the opportunity to explore new flavors and cooking techniques, all while building friendships and learning about each other's cultures. Their enthusiasm for cooking is contagious, and it's heartwarming to see their desire to experiment and share ideas in the kitchen. It's been a joy to watch them step out of their comfort zones and develop a newfound love for creating delicious meals together.\r\n\r\nThis week, we focused on \"cold\" recipes like fruit salad and veggie dip, offering a fun introduction to food preparation. While these dishes were simple, they allowed the kids to practice teamwork and creativity. Next week, we'll be diving into something even more exciting – our first cultural dishes from Mexico! The students are eager to explore the rich flavors and traditions of Mexican cuisine, and I can already feel their excitement building. I'm thrilled to continue this journey with them, watching their cooking skills evolve alongside their appreciation for diverse cultures. This program wouldn't be possible without the support of our generous donors, and I'm deeply grateful for their contribution to making these experiences a reality.","fullyFundedDate":1740932266350,"projectUrl":"project/cooking-with-kids/9133499/","projectTitle":"Cooking with Kids","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kibbler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8459351_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1725913780485","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8459351"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_91356","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":627,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":41,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":46,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"14.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":72.7,"schoolId":91356,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about A.W.
