My students are loving it so much. I have had great opportunities to help students using this area.\r\nFirst great use, was helping some students work through a conflict which was just a huge misunderstanding between the girls. Second great opportunity was a student came in on lunch tired and asked to take a 10min nap, we set a time and they took and nap. They were thankful for a safe space to take the nap. Lastly, many students love to sit in the area to do their work. They have been more productive in the space, they have asked permission to use it first every time.\r\nThese are just a few of the amazing things happening in the area. When I had to do some re-ordering of items a few students asked for coloring materials so they can color as they chat with friends. This has become a huge impact on the students learning. We have played a few games it was rough the first couple times because the students t's didn't even know what coins were.\r\nI have been working 1:1 with students learning and talking about the coins and bills so that they know which are which. I hope to play more of the games now that they play money has helped teach them about money in general.\r\nStudents can now add dollar bills together. We still struggle with the coins but they are getting the hang of the coins. I am able to help students better understand by showing them an example they can keep in front of them. They can also write along side that example to help them learn the process or steps they need to do. The students also love them for writing down and it doesn't restrict how much space they have like the mini whiteboards do. \r\nThe students have been more collaborative with their learning. That they write a problem on the table and either in partners or the whole table group have worked together to solve the problems.\r\nThe learning has increase so much that I have seen my students growth in their learning. Students will grab 1-2 cushions to sit on a chair. I have had students grab several cushions so they can lay down to do their learning.
