Seeing their faces light up as they experienced the glowing decorations and activities was priceless! Their excitement, laughter, and enthusiasm reminded me how important it is to create moments where students can simply enjoy being kids and feel proud of everything they have accomplished.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the glow-in-the-dark materials, they were thrilled! The unique supplies brought an extra level of excitement to the celebration, and students couldn't wait to participate. When the composter came in the box, the students reviewed the directions, looked at the parts list and began assembling! We have all assembled items and made mistakes becoming frustrated. Together the students learn how to better handle mistakes and do recognize a sense of accomplishment with the finished product.\r\n\r\nDaily we maintain our composters, adding vegetable scraps from families and staff, as well as our cafeteria. The student pick up and return containers to staff members giving them an opportunity to practice social skills and cementing their knowledge by repeating it to others.\r\n\r\nOur project could not come to fruition without the support of our donors. The Calming Corner Safe Space, has given our classroom new life and energy with this focus on mental health and comfort.\r\n\r\nThe students have been OBSESSED with the stress balls, they were able to fidget with them while we watched a documentary which helped them stay focus and on task. It has also been a huge help with completion of work. Students are motivated to earn them while they work if they are doing good work. The stickers have allowed us to restock our sticker bin which students can earn when playing review games.\r\n\r\nWe are really greatful for all the snacks as they help a lot of hungry students push through the day. All of the students at TNGA get free lunch and breakfast, but if you come late you can miss breakfast and these snacks motivate them to keep working. How can you care about your work when your stomach is growling? Thanks a lot for all the treats.\r\n\r\nThe beanbag and small tables and allowed us to have the flexible seating of our dreams. Students having rough days have been able to remove themselves and sit elsewear while still doing their work. My students have been expressing their gratitude for having somewhere else to sit in for a little bit rather than the uncomfortable chairs they are stuck in all day.\r\n\r\nThanks to your help supplying these materials, our classroom has been more lively and the students have been more engaged. So, thank you so much for you contribution to our classroom, please keep our classroom in mind for your future donations too. There are still some things this new classroom needs. Our walls are decorated, but we need bins to organize our work and supplies.
