We anticipate that all of our events will be an extreme success. We have nearly 1,000 students, the majority of whom are in need of our support. Also, at the moment, our biggest need is hygiene items for the Brotherhood to distribute to kids in need. Right now we are setting up requests for more health and hygiene products, such as toothbrushes and sanitizers, plus warmth, care, and hunger products like clothing. Our future project requests include items to meet the basic needs of the children in our school. We appreciate your support! The students have been using tumbler composters and now will learn another way to compost. \r\n\r\nThe students were very excited to receive the materials and get started! I was nicely surprised that they held the worms and like the way they coiled in their hands! I did think they would be more hesitant.\r\n\r\nWe compost scraps from our homes and invite the staff to bring in vegetable scraps as well. We also utilize vegetable scraps from our cafeteria which teaches the whole school how and why to compost. The students in our school enjoy looking at the wider variety of birds who come to our bird feeders on campus. We get many more types than we ever did before and some teachers take pictures!\r\n\r\nOur students are seen filling the bird feeders and in the hallways, some general ed students have thanked our class for maintaining the feeders. My students have been asked about the suet and it is gratifying to hear them talk confidently to students who do not usually interact with the special education classes.\r\n\r\nBeing a good steward is an important life skill. My class enjoys maintaining our corner of this busy world!
