The play kitchen is helping students with new vocabulary words such as naming foods, requesting items, and describing actions (\"cut,\" \"pour,\" \"cook\"). The students are really benefiting from this kind of structured pretend play. I've noticed how it creates opportunities to practice vocabulary, turn-taking, and even use alternative communication systems (like PECS or AAC devices). \r\n\r\nOur new kitchen also supports social interaction and cooperative play. The students are beginning to practice sharing space and materials. Some have even taken on roles of chefs and customers.
