Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 3rd-grade classroom and soon will be my 4th grade classroom is comprised of students many of whom are immigrants and speak a language other than English at home, are gifted, or part of our special education programs.

I love the start of each day, students line up ready to get to class.

They smile because they know that something will happen. I keep them guessing at what new things I might try or how I will read, and even what I just might wear (I came dressed as Dr. Seuss one day). These students have all different interests from playing sports to reading a good book, but they share a common bond, the bond of curiosity and that is truly an amazing gift.

My students live in a high poverty area in Arizona and our school is a Title I campus and 100% of the school is eligible for the free lunch program. Our focus goals are to greatly improve our writing and our math abilities, but a major focus is to improve our reading ability of fluency to comprehension in all aspects of our school and classroom.

Our belief is every student, every classroom, every day.

My Project

My students are hard working individuals who strive to find areas to enhance their learning. This document camera will help students enlarge their group work where students can not only make documents bigger on the screen. They will be able to use this camera to support their science materials to magnify samples. Analyzing data is a huge component of my students learning. Giving my students every opportunity to succeed not only in the classroom but with real life experiences by staying on top of technology, which will support students not only in their current learning but in future learning as well.
