Located in the heart of Phoenix Arizona, Cartwright school serves 800 k-8th grade students. My 4rd grade classroom is comprised up of 32 of those students; many are immigrants and speak a language other than English at home, are gifted, or part of our special education program. Our school is a title 1 campus and 100% of the school is eligible for the free lunch program. Our focus goals are to greatly improve our writing and our math abilities, but a major focus is to improve our reading ability from fluency to comprehension in all aspects of our school and classroom. My students bring passion to the classroom, through a vas array of conversations, different way of thinking, and some of the great moments in my classroom are when you see those moments of "I got it" it's awesome to see this in their eyes. My passion for teaching is blended by the passion to learn from my students.
