My Students

Dynamic, engaged, motivated, and supportive young learners enter my classroom every day. We are in a PK-2 school and this unique setting provides our class with opportunities to tailor our work to primary students. Daily community building and the responsive classroom approach are an integral part of my curriculum in my 2nd-grade classroom.

My students are excited about learning and are encouraged by new supplies that are innovative, help encourage independence, and improve their current academic development.

My students and I thank you for your donation to our project and we know that it will help to improve our classroom instruction and learning opportunities.

My Project

Just like Snowflake Bentley, who took still photos long ago of the snowflakes that fell from the sky, I want to show my students how science and photography can be utilized for learning.

From flowers, insects, snowflakes, and more, students will be able to zoom in on the small things with both an artistic and scientific eye.

A macro lens is certainly not something that is common in a primary age classroom, but I am not the typical primary teacher. I love finding ways for students to learn that will captivate them and allow them to think creatively.

This would not only be a tool for science, but also a tool for art, writing, technology, history, and more. The use of a camera in the classroom is a tool for documentation of learning, the greatest gift of all!
