Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

"Who's a champ?" " I'm a Champ!" My students chant out loud every day to remind themselves that they are the champions in learning.

The sparks for learning start in the hearts of these little children in kindergarten.

My students are bilingual learners in a Korean English Dual Language program. More than half of them are ELD learners and they need effective educational aids and supplies to support their learning and continue to grow as champions. Having access to new learning materials that meet their needs in second language acquisition will broaden their young minds and assist them in becoming the successful learners they hope to be when they shout out, "I'm a champ!"

My Project

Since March 2020, my students have been learning remotely.

Even on a small screen, my Kindergarteners deserve learning that is real, interactive, and rigorous.

Outdated school devices affect the quality of live Zoom lessons for my students.

The new Apple laptop will help my Kindergarteners enhance their learning experience on Zoom. The current school devices given to the teachers are outdated and they don't allow all functions on Zoom.

In order to teach more interactive, engaging, and student-driven lessons, I would like to host a meeting that allows students to participate in annotation and small group discussions. The upgraded device will enable students to rename their screen, draw and write on a shared screen, and join breakout rooms. It will also help me monitor and respond to the students better by viewing more number of students on one screen.

Technology is essential for distance learning and my students need that for remote/blended learning next school year.
