"If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you."
My school is located in a high poverty area and is not able to provide students with all the supplies they need in order to succeed.
My first-grade students from the West-Side of Chicago are thoughtful, creative, and deserve a safe and comfortable space to learn in! As our class size continues to grow, unfortunately, the carpet in which the students sit on, cannot fit all of my students. Thus, leaving several students to sit on the tile surrounding the classroom carpet. My students are motivated learners and I want to provide them with their own space so that they can feel empowered to learn.
My Project
This carpet would make a huge difference in my students' learning. My goal is to have all of my students sitting on one carpet, making them truly feel that we are all learning as one cohesive unit!! It's really hard to maintain the attention of all 31 of my students when some of the students are sitting on the comfy carpet, and others are sitting on the hard tile. I don't want any of my students to feel as if they are being neglected during community carpet time.
That is why it is so important to me that I raise the funds for this carpet.
The dimensions of my current carpet can no longer suit my students' needs. Please help me get the carpet that my children deserve!
