This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students' current distance learning circumstances are very challenging. They have been home bound for 7 weeks. Many of my students are not able to do school work or communicate with me because they do not have a computer or they lack internet services.

My students are trying their best at "online learning", without any physical interaction with their teacher or their classmates.

This is making learning very difficult for my students. They email me and tell me they want to be back at school.

My Project

My amazing students have been working at home every day since our entire district closed due to the pandemic. We are making the best of this time and eagerly continuing with our teaching and learning. My students have been learning through educational sites and district apps that I have been able to assign to them. But my very old laptop that my school district provided to me many years ago does not have a camera. I am unable to provide my students with Zoom video lessons.

A laptop with a camera will allow me to video conference with my students and will close the learning gap.

This project will provide me the opportunity to "see" my students again. I have been missing them so much over the last seven weeks. Once our schools reopen, I will continue to use the laptop as a resource in the classroom.
