Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our classroom is filled with first and second-grade students who have a passion for learning and have beautiful, kind hearts. These students show enthusiasm and curiosity with every new subject matter learned. They ask questions and show interest in why or how something is the way it is. My students are also the type of people we want to see in the world. They are willing to help one another achieve their personal success and show love and compassion to one another. I believe that one day my students will change the world.

My Project

We use our headphones on a daily basis, so they definitely get a lot of use out of them and my students do an excellent job at making sure they care for their headphones. However, many of our class headphones have broken, the sound has stopped working, or pieces get stuck in the devices, making the headphones unusable.

New, quality headphones for my students would ensure everyone has their own set that works properly.

We work on technology programs everyday to supplement our learning. Because many of our class headphones have lost function, students are having to complete their technology programs with the sound coming from the device, rather than from a set of headphones. This can be extremely distracting to other students who are also working in the same manner, but also to the student trying to focus. With everyone have a working set of headphones, we would no longer run into this problem. Students would be able to zone in on their work, and concentrate on what is being taught through these technology programs.

It is also important that each student have their own set of headphones for sanitary purposes. Although sharing is caring, we do not want students to be sharing the headphones especially during these times.

I can ensure that these headphones would be treasured items in our classroom. My students would make sure to take excellent care of their headphones because they have realized the difficulty of tasks without the headphones and want to make sure they put in their best effort!
