My students have become experts in understanding the physiology of the brain, but their ability to visualize it's complex anatomy has been limited to two dimensional diagrams and inexpensive plastic models.
I want to provide my students with the unique opportunity to, not only see and hold a real brain, but to be able to dissect it as well, so they can understand the interconnectedness of structures and marvel at the power of such a small structure.
This hands-on experience will help solidify their understanding. I'm hoping that it will also inspire some of them to pursue neuroscience research or neurosurgery as a career!
Our school does not have the funding to allow for my AP Psychology students to have this experience and I would love for them to have practical knowledge on top of their theoretical experience.
