Zines & Poster Power Inspired by Multicultural Voices
Help me give my students a variety of multicultural literature and art supplies to present the books and the themes to the public.

My Project
I am dedicated to keeping a multicultural library in my classroom where students find new sets of books to create self-selected book circles. I need to replenish the shelves with newly published and critically acclaimed diverse American Literature. I have chosen books by African American and Mexican American authors about themes of racial, and gender identity for this round.
As a culminating project students will work with an Art teacher intern to guide them through the making of a poster or a zine that represents important themes in the book.
These will be placed where a wider audience can learn about the book and its themes. We want to broaden the scope of what books get read and talked about. We will place them in cafes, libraries, and around the school campus.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
