Help me give my students items that will help them learn how to self regulate their emotions when faced with difficult situations.

Have you ever been faced with a daunting task that gave you a headache? Do you ever just need a second to take a breath and regroup?
Coming back to in-person learning after the year we all have had, has been hard on all of us; especially my students.
In my self-contained CES (Communication & Education Supports) classroom, my students are learning how to readjust back to the stressors of school. Our students range from 6th to 8th grade and have varying levels of communication skills. In our classroom, we are learning to self-regulate our emotions and be flexible with change.
Sometimes we have a tough time dealing with big emotions or challenging situations. In our classroom we are learning to self regulate our emotions and be flexible with change. At times when big emotions arise, my students often have to walk outside the classroom to bring themselves back to a calm body.
With the Zen Zone, it will give student a space inside the classroom to deal with the tough emotions, bring themselves back to a calm body, and return to the main group.
The Zen Zone will have various items aimed at de-escalating student behaviors such as: a personal calm down plan for each student, puzzles/ building blocks, books dealing with managing emotions, fidgets, and posters where they can identify the emotion and how to change it.
