My Project
The pandemic had devastating impacts on my students. Many of them suffer from anxiety and emotional/behavioral challenges which increased while distance learning. Now that we are back in person, students are struggling to transition back to face to face classes and need additional supports in self-regulating and developing positive relationships with their peers and teacher.
Creating a Zen Zone in my classroom with flexible seating and fluorescent light covers will make students feel at home and more prepared to learn.
It will also help to create a safe learning environment that increases productivity where students can feel comfortable to be themselves, make connections with their peers, and engage in mindful actions that help to free their minds and tap into their creativity.
