Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have a group of 7th graders who have had a rough couple of years. They want to learn and they want to engage in our class activities, but sometimes it is difficult to maintain their focus due to their classroom environment and the emotional issues and the stresses of being 13. I was fortunate enough to get my furniture project funded and my students are looking forward to using their standing desks. With this project, I now want to address the lighting issues and explore using tools to reduce stress and refocus students while they are working out their issues. I also have many motivational posters that I want to put up, but the textured classroom walls make that a challenge.
