My Students
I work in a Title I school in Springfield, Missouri. I will be looping my students from third to fourth grade, which means we will all be together again next year. YAY! We have an awesome classroom learning community where each student has their own strengths, and we share and build each other up each day. I have 5 ELL (English Language Learners) students, 4 Special Education students, and a vast variety of diversity including students of many different cultures and backgrounds. In my room we celebrate and honor our differences, and together we grow and thrive! I love my students! I have been teaching at the same school for 15 years, and still get excited to be with my students each day!
My Project
These items will provide a beautiful space for students to read and learn in my classroom reading area. Alternative seating will improve student engagement by helping students to be at home in my room.
My students will choose their seats, and identify the most comfortable learning space for themselves.
They will select a stool, the futon, or a pillow to cozy up with a good book or assignment.
I am an 18 year teacher. My futon is in dire need of a new cover, and the seating in my library is in dire need of update. These new editions will help my students feel at home so that they will thrive in their learning.
