Help me give my students supplies that they need to prepare for the transition to a college dorm. As we celebrate and honor their accomplishments, we remember that our campus in a Title I school with students who are low income and struggle to meet everyday needs.
Our girls participate in a rigorous College Readiness and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) program.
All core curriculum classes at the school are either Pre-Advanced Placement or Advanced Placement. Also offered are Dual Credit classes that allow high school students to earn high school and college credit simultaneously.
While we are excited that our students are accepted into college, we want to lift the burden of some of their college dormitory expenses. With this pandemic our girls would not be able to afford some of their basic dormitory needs.
This project will provide my students with some basic essentials that they need to start college in a dorm.
It will help meet their financial, social, and emotional needs to be prepared for school. It will also remind them that they are not alone during this time of so much uncertainty.
