My Students

84% of our students qualify for free/reduced lunch. These students already begin our high school at a disadvantage. Having access to these tools will provide our students with the opportunity to delve into complicated mathematical ideas both visually and mathematically. My students are hungry for knowledge and graphing calculators will help deepen their knowledge of mathematical concepts. The students need graphing calculators to access the rigorous math curriculum. Our S.T.E.M. Title I campus also participates in University Interscholastic League (UIL) competitions, Texas Alliance for Minorities in Engineering and various other competitions.

My Project

Graphing calculators in the classroom will enrich student understanding of advanced mathematical concepts. This technology will not only aid in student conceptual understanding of math but will also be a catalyst for critical thinking because students will be able to access more information than can be uncovered with pencil and paper. Becoming proficient at how to use a graphing calculator will also prepare students for success in AP classes and in college.

Your generous donations will provide students with an opportunity to apply critical thinking, assist with math competitions and help students manage of college level courses.
