Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my classroom are wonderful, energetic students. The population is 75 percent bilingual and unfortunately the majority come from low socio-economic status. Sometimes the meals they eat at school are the only meals they have to eat. As teachers we try to give these students everything we can. We know at our campus that these students not only need an education but need to be lifelong learners so they can make a difference in their lives.
My Project
Help support our class with a variety of snacks to help keep their busy bodies fueled throughout their busy day.
My students work long and hard hours on a daily basis, and get hungry by the time they finally get ready to go home.
Many of my students do not make it to school on time to have breakfast so they go through their day hungry until lunchtime. A lot of my students also love to work hard for an incentive of a snack. Many times they want to be shown that they are appreciated by a simple gesture of a yummy, little treat.
