My Students

I teach a precious, diverse group of students. I love that my students come to school each day eager to learn new things and challenge themselves. They are dedicated to their schoolwork and making teaching fun!

My school is 91.8% poverty, yet my students come to school every day eager to learn and grow.

I adore teaching my students! My students come from a very mixed background socially, ethnically, and economically. Yet, they mix together as a classroom group beautifully.

My Project

I teach 8th grade students. When teaching students I feel like it is important to give them a reward for when they do a good job. Just like in the real world, you can earn a "bonus" at your job when you do exceptionally good work. My students also deserve rewards for doing good work.

Chips and candy may seem small to you, but to a 13 or 14 year old it is a great reward for doing well.

When my students work hard and earn an A on a major test I like to reward them with chips or candy. They earned it! I have found that kids work harder when they know they will be rewarded.
