This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Daily routines are very important for kindergarteners. In my classroom the focus is on procedures. One procedure we have is students place their graded work in mailboxes. This procedure helps kids keep track of their own work and teaches responsibility.

Mailboxes show kids how important their work is by providing a personal space to keep important papers.

When kids develop a systematic process to accomplish a tasks they do better in school.

Our existing mailboxes are corrugated cardboard and they are falling apart. New mailboxes will help maintain our procedure and it will also ensure every parent receives any important information regarding school business.

The desktop organizer will help me keep lesson plans and important papers organized allowing me to focus on teaching.

We are also asking donors for paper products, laminating pouches, and printer ink to make math games for team and partner activities.

Lastly, my kids would benefit from ten frame pop-its. Learning the 10 based system can be a challenge to some kids. Having a tool kids love will keep them engaged and help them develop a relationship with "10" while developing number sense.
